This cup was originally left to the Queen's Scholars by Sir Edward Hannes (OW, elected to Oxford in 1682), a physician to Queen Anne, one of the original contributors to College Dormitory, and an established benefactor of the School. He willed that the cup should be constantly on the high table when the Queen's Scholars fed.
