Jan. 20, 1898 (H); left April 1901; in the employment of Eastern Telegraph Co. in London and abroad 1901-8; entered the theatrical business 1909; theatre manager for Andre Charlot at the Prince of Wales's Theatre, Coventry Street, London; served in Egypt, France, and Italy with the 4th Batt. West Indies Regt. in Great War I; 2nd Lieut. March 6, 1916; Lieut. May 31, 1916; Capt. Nov. 20, 1916; author of Unsettled in Places (1937); m. Sept. 8, 1956, Audrey Mary, daughter of Joseph Edgar George, silk buyer, formerly of Bath, Somerset; d. 1975.
