May 31, 1918; served in Mesopotamia; became a horticulturist, garden designer and writer on gardenĀing for Country Life and other journals; proprietor of Farall Nurseries, Haslemere; recipient of the Lindley and Banksian Medals of the Royal Horticultural Society; author of The Hydrangeas (1950) and other works; m. 1st March 1, 1932, Mabel Arden, daughter of Harry Richard Reginald Bagot, of Sutton Coldfield, Staffs; 2nd July 10, 1947, Frances Cassandra Mary PageĀ Turner, only daughter of Harry Sholto Searle Parker, Head Master of Rottingdean School, Sussex, and of Mrs. Page-Turner, who resumed her maiden name after her husband's death; d. 19 May 1986.
