        Holland, Theodore Samuel, son of Sir Arthur Holland, of Wimbledon, Surrey, shipowner and insurance broker, by Mary Katherine Barbara, only daughter of Frederick Schwann, of Hyde Park; b. April 25, 1878; adm. Sept. 22, 1892 (A); left July 1896; Hon. Mus. Doc. Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, U. S. A., 1926; a musical composer; wrote a number of pieces for the pianoforte and violin and some waltzes and songs; served in France May 1915 - Jan. 1919 as press censor and in charge of official photographs; Capt. Sept. 4, 1918; mentioned in despatches L. G. May 20, 1918, and March 16, 1919; O.B.E. July 10, 1919; a lecturer at the Royal Academy of Music, and later Professor of Harmony and Composition there; m. July 14, 1930, Isména, daughter of Theodore Schwann; d. Oct. 29, 1947
