Easter 1753; BA 1756; MA 1760; ordained deacon 1757, priest 1759 (both Rochester); Vicar of Aston Abbotts, Bucks., 4 Apr 1759-67; Chaplain to British Staff in Germany for a few months, but returned to England with Lord George Germain (qv) after battle of Minden; Chaplain in Ordinary to George III 1760 (still 1774); Prebendary of St. Paul’s 25 May 1763 – Feb 1780, also Archdeacon of Middlesex 1 May 1764 – Jan 1780; Vicar of Northolt, Middlesex 14 Dec 1763-79; Vicar of St. Leonard’s, Shoreditch 14 Oct 1767-80; Chaplain to John Hobart, 2nd Earl of Buckinghamshire (qv), when Lord Lieut. Ireland 1776-9; DD Trinity Coll.
