Black wool cap with small remnants of pink silk ribbon decoration. Name label marked with 'M.WINGATE' [possibly Michael Melvill Fenton Wingate?] in black ink. Conserved by students at the Centre for Textile Conservation at the University of Glasgow in 2015.
With bronze and ormolu mounts, silver plate to front of clock states 'Presented by Members of Ashburnham House to John Sargeaunt, Esq. (HOUSEMASTER 1907-1918)
Black rosette with hessian backing to reinforce, sewn to piece of black crepe fabric. Second piece of black crepe fabric, but with no attached rosette. Wear to centre of rosette.
