If PE replies to Stafford Row rather than the Exchequer, he is not to mention the topic which has occupied his recent letter, since Bedford cannot guarantee that the letter will not be read by others. Someone (the king?) has been suffering from intestinal gas.

Serious letter of advice. PE apparently is about to further a young man's career by finding him a situation abroad. Bedford warns against action which may give rise to a future claim from the young man's mother and sister, who will no longer have his support.
