Joseph Tyson by Thomas Hennell
Half-length portrait of Joseph Tyson, Classics Master and Bursar (1885-1929) sitting; he leans slightly to the right of the picture; he is writing on a piece of paper on his desk; he wears a suit and tie; in the top left is a picture of a ship
Hennell, Thomas, 1903-1945
School from the South by F.G. Worlock (OW 1901-1905)
The chairs are set out as for prayers; the shell is absent; the bust of Busby now on the Grand Staircase is at the far end; there is a desk and blackboard in the left foreground; two boys are on the right in the middle-ground.
Worlock, Frederic George, 1886-1973
The Burlington Dormitory by G.R. Sarjent
The Burlington Dormitory from the North; beds line the walls; monitors sit around the fire in the right foreground, stoked by a younger boy; in the distance other scholars are talking and playing games
Sarjent, George Reid, c.1788-1855
Member of the Grant family by James Warren Childe
Miniature on bone or ivory; head and shoulders of a young man, turned to the right; he wears a white cravat and a blue coat with gold buttons.
Childe, James Warren, 1780-1862
The South Ambulatory from the South-West; shows Royal tomb on the left and directly ahead is the entrance to the Henry VII Chapel.
Half-length portrait on a much reduced scale; Abbott is turned to the right; he wears a white cravat and black coat; the background is grey; framed in an oval. Marked on back "Anna Tonelli" "Fece in Londra 1794" and "Charles Abbot 1st Lord Colchester". Charles Abbot 1st Lord Colchester would have been in his 40s at the time of painting so it is likely that either the artist or sitter is mis-attributed.
Tonelli, Anna, 1763-1846
Very badly damaged; he faces the left of the picture; he wears a white shirt and black suit; his hands are clasped against his chest; the background is brown.
School blitzed by Rufus de Pinto
School from the North end, looking South; the roof is missing and the Rose Window of the Abbey is clearly visible in the background. The walls of School are brightly coloured, and in the foreground are patterns of light from the windows in the North end.
de Pinto, Rufus John Noel, 1904-1976
