L’ESTRANGE, SIR GEORGE BURDETT, second son of Henry Piesley L’Estrange, Moystown, King’s Co., Col. King’s Co. Militia, and Grace, dau. of George Burdett MP (I), The Heath House, Queen’s Co.; b. 1796; adm. 6 Feb 1807; left Dec 1810; Ensign, 31st Foot 16 Jan 1812; Lieut., 17 Jun 1813, half-pay 1814; Ensign and Lieut., 3rd Foot Guards 2 Jul 1815, half-pay 11 Jul 1822; served in Peninsular War; attached to household of Lord Lieut. Ireland; Usher at Arms, Order of St. Patrick 1858; knighted at Dublin by Earl of Carlisle as Lord Lieut., 13 Jun 1860; m. 1832 Louisa Vincentia, dau. of Herbert Rawson Stepney, Durrow Abbey, King’s Co.; d. 5 Feb 1878.
