Oxford, matr. 2 Nov 1756; MP Marlborough 11 May 1762-80, Devizes 1780 – Dec 1788, Wiltshire from 14 Dec 1788; travelled in Italy 1764, 1769 and 1777; succ. father as 7th baronet 10 Feb 1767; assumed additional name of Tylney 9 Jun 1775; inherited estates of his uncle John Child Tylney, 2nd Earl Tylney (qv), in 1784; m. 1st, 11 Jul 1775 Hon.
