LONG, SIR JAMES TYLNEY, BART., eldest son of Sir Robert Long, Bart. (qv); b. 1736; adm. Sep 1749 (Hutton's); in school list 1754; Oriel Coll. Oxford, matr. 2 Nov 1756; MP Marlborough 11 May 1762-80, Devizes 1780 – Dec 1788, Wiltshire from 14 Dec 1788; travelled in Italy 1764, 1769 and 1777; succ. father as 7th baronet 10 Feb 1767; assumed additional name of Tylney 9 Jun 1775; inherited estates of his uncle John Child Tylney, 2nd Earl Tylney (qv), in 1784; m. 1st, 11 Jul 1775 Hon. Harriett Bouverie, fourth dau. of Jacob Bouverie, 1st Viscount Folkestone; m. 2nd, 26 Jul 1785 Lady Catherine Sidney Windsor, dau. of Other Lewis Windsor, 4th Earl of Plymouth; d. 28 Nov 1794 (M. I.
