Frederick George Lindley Meynell (formerly Wood), of Burton-on-Trent, Staffs, barrister-at-law, by Lady Mary Susan FĂ©licie Lindsay, third daughter of Alexander, 25th Earl of Crawford; b. June 19, 1885; adm. Jan. 19, 1899 (A); left July 1899; Ch. Ch. Oxon., matric. Michaelmas 1903; assumed the surname of Meynell in lieu of Wood Feb. 8, 1905; Baring Bros. Ltd. 1910; served in France in Great War I, Capt. R.F.A. Jan. 14, 1916; mentioned in despatches; M.C. Jan. 1, 1918; O.B.E. June 3, 1919; partner in Rob. Meynell & Co.; knighted 1946 for services to H.M. Treasury while resident in Buenos Aires; m. July 21, 1914; Rose, only daughter of Lionel Bulteel, of St. Marylebone; d. May 22, 1956.
