Camb., matric. Michaelmas 1906; served with the 8th City of London Batt. in Great War I; wounded in France and seconded for duty with 5th Batt. Highland Light Infantry; Major, Nov. 8, 1917; served with temporary commission as Lieut.-Col. in the Home Guard Great War II; m. Jan. 5, 1916, Winifred Lea, widow of Arthur Yeulet Joily, and youngest daughter of J. H. Kenyon, of Elstree, Herts.
