July 1911, matric. Michaelmas 1911; 1st class Classics (Mods.) 1912; 2nd Lieut. 9th (Serv.) Batt. East Surrey Regt. Dec. 22, 1914; went out to the western front Aug. 1915; killed in action at Loos Sept. 25, 1915.
