NICOLL, JOHN, elder son of Rev. Richard Nicoll DD, Chancellor and Prebendary of Wells, Rector of Drayton, Oxfordshire, and Chaplain in Ordinary to George III, and Vere, elder dau. of Richard Wykeham, Swalcliffe, Oxfordshire; great-nephew of John Nicoll (KS 1700, qv); bapt. Bodicote, Oxfordshire 23 Sep 1768 (IGI); adm. 25 Feb 1780; in school lists 1785; probably Nicoll who played cricket for the OWW against the Old Etonians at Lord’s 13-14 May 1793; adm. Middle Temple 28 Apr 1787, called to bar 1 Jun 1793, Bencher 19 Apr 1832; d. 11 Feb 1833.
