(Royal Fusiliers) and served in Great War I; discharged on account of ill health; asst. master at Rugby School 1916-24; Professor of Education, Hongkong Univ. 1924-6; asst. master at Eton 1926-7; and subsequently at Catford, Harrow, Imperial Service Coll. and Oakham; ordained deacon 1938, priest 1939 (Oxford) : Rector of Semley, Wilts, 1942; m. Amy Mary, daughter of Daniel Westwood Greatbatch, of Staplecross, Sussex; d. 1957.
