PERROT, GEORGE, second son of Rev. Thomas Perrot, Rector of Welbury, Yorks., and Prebendary of Ripon, and Anastasia, dau. of Rev. George Plaxton, Rector of Barwick in Elmet, Yorks.; bapt. Barwick in Elmet, Yorks. 24 Jun 1710 (IGI); adm. (aged 11) Feb 1721/2; in under school list 1723; adm. Inner Temple 28 Oct 1728, called to bar 26 Jun 1732, Bencher 1757; KC 1759; opened the case against Laurence Shirley, 4th Earl Ferrers (qv), in his trial for murder in the House of Lords 16 Apr 1760; Baron of the Exchequer and Serjeant-at-Law 24 Jan 1763-75, when he retired on grounds of health; m. 20 Apr 1742 (IGI) Mary, widow of Peter Whitton, Lord Mayor of York, and only dau. of John Bower, Bridlington Quay, Yorks.; d. 28 Jan 1780. DNB.
