PERRYN, JAMES, son of Sir Richard Perryn (qv); b.; adm. 15 Jun 1770; left Easter 1771; Ensign, 1st Foot Guards 2 Apr 1778; Lieut. and Capt., 22 Feb 1781; Capt. and Lieut. -Col., 11 Aug 1790; Brig. -Gen. in West Indies 1 Sep 1795; served in America 1780-3, and taken prisoner at York Town; served in Flanders 1793-5; d. at St. Domingo, West Indies 1796 (will proved PCC 10 Apr 1801).
