Kerry 1743 – 7 Oct 1751; assumed surname of Petty in lieu of Fitzmaurice 1751, having inherited the estates of his maternal uncle Henry Petty, 1st Earl of Shelburne (I) (of an earlier creation); created Viscount Fitzmaurice (I) 7 Oct 1751 and Earl of Shelburne (I) 6 Jun 1753; Governor, co. Kerry 1753; Privy Councillor (I) 8 Feb 1754; MP Chipping Wycombe 1754 – 20 May 1760; created Baron Wycombe (GB) 20 May 1760; m. 16 Feb 1734 his cousin Mary, younger dau. of Hon. William Fitzmaurice, Gallane, co. Kerry; d. 14 May 1761.
