        Price, ---; Usher in 1698 (HMC Egmont ii, 190). [presumably PRICE, ELLIS, son of Andrew Ellis, Dublin ; Christ Church, Oxford, matr. 21 Mar 1692/3, aged 18 ; BA 1699 (sic) ; MA 1700 ; ordained ; presumably “Eliseus Price”, licensed as schoolmaster at Isleworth, Middlesex 3 Nov 1702; Rector of Ysceifiog, Flintshire, from 4 Jul 1704 (successor instituted 6 Mar 1762) ; Rector of Holywell, Flintshire, from Feb 1711 (successor instituted 21 Sep 1763) ; “he had been in his younger days an Assistant at Westminster School under the celebrated Dr Busby, and became the most eminent Schoolmaster in North Wales” (Willis, Survey of St.Asaph, 1801, 427) ; described by Rev.Thomas Wilson as “a notable schoolmaster, very stiff and precise” (Wilson, Diaries, 1964, 32) ; m. Ursula, dau. of Roger Mostyn, Kilken Hall, Flints. ; buried Bagillt, Flints. 9 Feb 1762].
