Lieut. -Col. , 23 Mar 1915; Lieut. -Col. , 19 Aug 1919; employed with Army Pay Dept. , 12 May 1898 – 1 May 1903; served in South African War 1899-1902, and in Flanders and France in 1914-8 War; taken prisoner at battle of Loos; despatches LG 15 Jun 1916; of Malpas Court, Monmouthshire, and Abbey Dore Court, Herefs. ; JP Herefordshire 1920; m. 29 Jan 1898 Lavinia, sister of Albert James Hemmerde (qv); d. 15 Jan 1929.
