Ranalow, Frederick Baring, only son of Joseph George Miles Parker Ranalow, music master at the school, by Ellen Frances, daughter of Francis Baring Atkinson, of Morland Hall, Westmorland; b. Nov. 7, 1873; adm. May IO, 1888 (H); left Dec. 1890; Fellow of the Royal Academy of Music 1906; appointed a Lay Vicar of Westminster Abbey Aug. 1, 1900; resigned Dec. 1908; Professor at the Royal Academy of Music and the Guildhall School of Music; for many years leading baritone of the Beecham Opera Company; played the part of Macbeth in the revival of The Beggar's Opera in 1920, which ran for 1,000 performances; m. Jan. 21, 1909, Lilian Mary, elder daughter of William Edward Oates, of Gestingthorpe Hall, Essex; d. Dec. 8, 1953.
