May 3, 1894 (H); left April 1898; London Univ.; M.B. and B.S. 1907; Guy's Hospital; M.R.C.S. and L.R.C.P. 1907; Consulting Radiologist; Physician-in-Charge of the Electro­ Therapeutic Dept., Charing Cross Hospital; practises in London; Capt. R.A.M.C. July 12, 1918; served in Great War I and was Consulting Radiologist in India; demob. Feb. 1919; M.I.E.E. 1923; M.R.C.P. 1933; F.R.C.P. 1938; Adviser in Radiology to the Ministry of Pensions; Hunterian Professor, Royal College of Surgeons, 1936-7; C.B.E. 1932; manager of the Royal Institution, 1943-5; Consulting Radiologist to the Charing Cross Hospital; a pioneer in radiology who took his first X-ray picture while still a boy at the school only a few months after Rontgen's discovery; received in 1957 the Medal of the Centre Antoine Bédère des Relations Internationales en Radiologie Medicale, the first British recipient; m. Feb. 1, 1908, Anne Thelka Henrietta, only daughter of Adolph Römer, of Tulse Hill, Surrey; d. 5 Nov. 1964.
