St.John’s Coll.Cambridge, adm.pens. 30 May 1857, matr.Mich.1857 ; BA and 27th Wrangler 1861 ; MA 1884 ; Assistant Master (Mathematics) 1861-2 ; Junior Clerk, War Office Aug 1863 – c.1872, when he inherited a share in the Perkins family brewery ; partner, Barclay Perkins & Co, brewers ; Master, Worshipful Company of Brewers 1883 ; of The White House, Ashford, Kent ; m. 1st, 1865 Emily Hunt (born Swindon, Wilts.) (Venn, Al.Cant. ; living in Marylebone with wife Emily Scriven, 1871 Census, but marriage not registered until second quarter 1877, St.George’s Hanover Square) ; m.2nd, 1889 Adeline, dau. of John Batterbee, Islington, Middlesex, zinc worker ; d. 28 Aug 1893.
