Sherriff, Albert, elder son of Edward Sondheim, of Hampstead, by Marie Louise Victorine, daughter of Victor Thomas Colle, of Brussels; b. Sept. 9, 1895; adm. Sept. 23, 1909 (H); left Dec. 1912; enlisted in the Artists' Rifles Sept. 14, 1914; 2nd Lieut. R.F.A. May 5, 1915; served in France from Jan. until invalided home in July 1917, and afterwards served at the War Office until the armistice; assumed the surname of Sherriff in lieu of Sondheim Oct. 4, 1918; a member of the London Stock Exchange 1921; m. July 22. 1916. Doris Scott. second daughter of Arthur Spencer Gilbert, of Hampstead.
