Simpson, David Crighton, elder son of the Rev. James Gilliland Simpson, D.D., sometime Dean of Peterborough, by Magdalen Helen, daughter of Walter Shepherd, of Dundee; b. Aug. 15, 1899; adm. May 4, 1911 (H); K.S. (non-resident) 1913; elected to Ch. Ch. Oxon. July 1918, matric. Trinity 1919; B.A. 1923; M.A. 1926; 2nd Lieut. Scots Guards Sept. 25, 1918; served in France and at Cologne in Great War I; asst. master, Giggleswick School 1922-5, at Westminster School 1925-60; Master of the King's Scholars 1934-49; hon. secre­tary of the Elizabethan Club 1925-32; president 1961; one of the editors of the present vol. of the Record 1960-2; m. Dec. 21, 1933, Dorothy Elaine, elder daughter of Henry Secker Walker, F.R.C.S., of Bradford-on-Avon, Wilts.; d. May 2, 1962.
