Cambridge 1844, adm. pens. 16 May 1844, scholar 1845; BA 1848; ordained deacon 1848, priest 1849; Curate, Barrowby, Lincs.; Vicar of North and South Elkington, Lincs., 1854-1901; Prebendary of Lincoln from 1885; leader of the mountaineering part that first reached the summit of Monte Rosa 31 Jul 1855; m. 14 Jul 1858 Emily, dau. of Rev.
