STOTE, BERTRAM, son of Sir Richard Stote, Kt, Jesmond Hall, Northumberland, Serjeant-at-Law, and Margaret, dau. of Henry Holmes, Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumberland, merchant; bapt. 8 Feb 1674/5; adm.; KS 1688; left 1693; Trinity Coll. Cambridge, adm. pens. 17 Jun 1693, aged 17, matr. 1693; adm. Lincoln’s Inn 27 may 1691; member, Merchant Adventurers’ Co., Newcastle upon Tyne 3 Jan 1700; MP Northumberland 1702-5; inherited Whitchester estate on death of his uncle Henry Holmes in 1706; unm.; buried St. Nicholas, Newcastle upon Tyne 22 Jul 1707.
