Michaelmas 1922; B.A. 1927; M.A. 1935; played cricket against Cambs. 1923-6, and for Leics. 1922-4; an asst. master at the school Sept. 1926 to April 1935; joint Head Master of a preparatory school in Sloane Street, Chelsea 1935-9; a master at Eton since 1939; m. April 11, 1928, Margaret Eleanor, daughter of the Rev. G. S. Peebles, Minister of Uddingston, Glasgow; d. 28 Jan. 1966.
