Sept. 1921 (A); left Apr. 1922; Slade Sch. 1922; an eccentric aesthete, described by William Hickey (Daily Express 1927) as "arriving in an electric Brougham, wearing a football jersey and earĀ­ rings"; took to his bedroom 1945, leaving it only on rare occasions; author and illustrator of the novel Leaves from a Missionary's Notebook, repub. 1986; d. 28 Feb. 1987.
