        THOMAS, LEWIS, son of Lewis Thomas, Oxford; b.; adm. (aged 10) Jan 1723/4; KS 1728; elected to Christ Church, Oxford 1732, matr. 15 Jun 1732, Westminster Student 20 Feb 1733 - void 26 Jun 1744; BA 1736; MA 1739; Lieut., Battereauís Foot 5 May 1742; Capt. -Lieut., 18 May 1747; 4th Foot 3 Mar 1749/50; Capt., 6 Mar 1750/1; Maj., 50th Foot 2 May 1758; 9th Foot 11 Dec 1759; Brevet Lieut. -Col., 25 Jan 1761; served in expedition against Belleisle, and was wounded and taken prisoner during the siege 8 Apr 1761; killed at the storming of Havana, Cuba Aug 1762.
