John Richard Delap Halliday (afterwards Tollemache), Cumberland Place, Marylebone, London, and Lady Elizabeth Stratford, dau. of John Stratford, 3rd Earl of Aldborough (I); b. 3 Oct 1807; adm. 5 Feb 1818 (Du Brieux's); assumed surname of Tollemache in lieu of Halliday 3 Aug 1821; 2nd Lieut., Rifle Brigade 16 Jun 1825; Lieut., 19 Aug 1828; Capt., half-pay, unattached 28 Dec 1832; Lieut, and Capt., 2nd Foot Guards 21 Jun 1833; retd. 19 Jul 1839; of Dorfold Hall, Cheshire; a famous fox-hunter; DL Cheshire, JP Cheshire 1849, High Sheriff 1865; m. 25 Jun 1844 Anne, eldest dau. of Rev.
