Ward, Sir Melvill Willis, son of Col. Sir Edward Willis Duncan Ward, Bart., K.C.B., of Pimlico, by Florence Caroline, daughter of Henry Minchin Simons, of South Kensington; b. May 25, 1885; adm. April 23, 1896 (R); left Dec. 1896; Midshipman R.N. May 30, 1901; Sub-Lieut. July 30, 1904; resigned Oct. 19, 1906; re-employed during Great War I and promoted Cdr. 1918; retired 1919; re-employed in Great War II as Lieut.-Cdr.; Cdr. May 8, 1946; D.S.C.; succeeded his brother as 3rd Baronet July 21, 1930; m. 1st Dec. 30, 1907, Alice Sophia, daughter of William Cobbett; 2nd Sept. 14, 1944, Helena Glorney, daughter of Isaac Guggenheim, of New York; d. 1973.
