Warden, William McEndrick (also known as Ken), son of Archibald Adam Warden, M.D., of Paris, by Rachel, eldest daughter of John Gray MacKendrick, F. R. S., Emeritus Professor, Glasgow Univ.; b. Sept. 3, 1903; adm. Jan. 14, 1915 (R); left July 1915; went to Malaya 1927; dir. Moine Compte & Co. Ltd, Union Building, Singapore; Lance-Corp. 12745 1 SSVF Armoured Car Section; POW Singapore to Thailand; Singapore Bridge Playing champion; taught French in ‘Changi University’; his wife and son, John, were evacuated to Calcutta on the Wosang; returned to Singapore 1946; married; d. in Greater London 1983.
