Archival history
Presumably in the sitter's possession, and after his death his son Sir John English Dolben (OW) will have inherited it. On his death in 1837 when the baronetcy became extinct, the picture descended to his granddaughter Francis, who married William Mackworth-Dolben (OW) who died in 1872. Their only daughter bequeathed it to the school in 1912.
