XV Caps

Black/Navy wool caps embroidered in pink with 'XV'. Constructed from 8 triangular panels that have been stitched together. Wool covered peak with stiffener inside possibly thick card. Wool covered top button. Grey silk lining. Size printed in black ink. Machine and hand stitched throughout. Conserved by students at the Centre for Textile Conservation at the University of Glasgow in 2015.

Six squares of navy felt (roughly 17cm by 17cm, varied) embroidered with interlocking WSR [Westminster School Rowing?] monogram in pale pink thread (8cm by 7cm).

One navy patch (11cm x 3cm), embroidered in gold-coloured, metal-wrapped thread with 'W.S.L.T.C.' [Westminster School Lawn Tennis Club]. Backed with hessian to stablisise. Thread tarnished and discoloured.

Six navy patches (9cm x 3cm), embroidered in gold-coloured, metal-wrapped thread with 'W.S.F.C.' [Westminster School Football Club]. Backed with hessian to stablisise. Thread tarnished and discoloured.

Five navy patches (9cm x 3cm), embroidered in gold-coloured, metal-wrapped thread with 'W.S.C.C.' [Westminster School Cricket Club]. Backed with hessian to stablisise. Thread tarnished and discoloured.

W.S.B.C Embroidered Pocket

Navy pocket removed from blazer (some original stitching remains), with full=colour Westminster School crest embroidered onto the front, with 'W.S.B.C' [Westminster School Boat Club] embroidered beneath. Gold-coloured metal-wrapped thread tarnished and discoloured, with spots of green oxidisation. In original shipping box, addressed to 'Mrs Vaughan, Westminster School Store, Little Dean's Yard, London, S.W', from 'H. Punford & Co. Ltd.'. 4 1/2p Henna Brown stamp (issued between 1958 and 1965).
