Serious letter of advice. PE apparently is about to further a young man's career by finding him a situation abroad. Bedford warns against action which may give rise to a future claim from the young man's mother and sister, who will no longer have his support.
Wm Sotheby congratulates PE on appointment to St Alban Hall.
John Conybeare hoping for letter and visit. Maybe the Heads of Houses will give him the Bampton Lecture for 24 (they did!)
E. Berens (different hand from above) likes an idea of PE's, but is too distant to take advantage of it.
Boisonade looks for a comment on (a ms. of?) the Anecdota, and argues that later Greek authors, while not comparable to the classical greats, are still worthy of study. Cf. l.70 above.
