St. Paul, Covent Garden 7 Dec 1723, but this identification is wrong, for in the baptismal register the father’s surname is spelled Curtis (sic), and the identification of him as a member of the Curteis family from Tenterden seems preferable, although he was not the Jeremiah Curteis who was the father of Edward Jeremiah Curteis (qv)].
