May 3, 1916; invalided; Trinity Hall, Camb., B.A. 1932; M.A. 1947; an artist; Gold Medallist, Paris Salon; served in the Navy in both Great Wars; painted the portrait of Walter Hamilton, Head Master, 1957; m. 1955, Zoe Violetta Lane, of New Zealand; d. 1968.

Painted for the Elizabethan Club, who presented it on 9th October 1957 to Hamilton, who presented it to the school.

Scope and content
Half-length portrait of Hamilton standing; he wears black academic dress and academic gown; his head and body are turned slightly to the left; he holds an open book. In 2001, his wife is reported to have said that this was a poor likeness.
