This ledger, kept by the Head of House, contains a list of Heads of House for Grants, but does not outline the rules and customs of the House, which are contained in a separate ledger. It includes the house chronicle, accounts of what happened within the House in the previous term, lists of those who were tanned and what they were tanned for, general accounts of the previous terms and anything the Head of House thought noteworthy to record, including comments about students and staff. Early accounts give details about evacuation during the Second World War, and there are also accounts of any plays the House performed and of the Play Supper. Sporting achievements are noted and there are various inserts throughout the volume, including photographs and cuttings from the 'Grantite Review'.
This series contains two volumes which include Grant's House lists and details of the pupils within the house. There is also an attendance register and a volume containing the House accounts. A volume recording the Grant's House rules is also included.
This book was started by F. E. Noel-Baker (G 1934 - 1938) as a separate ledger solely for the 'Rules and Customs' of Grant's House, instead of including them in the House Ledger. It was kept by the Head of House and successive Heads made alterations and updated the rules as they saw fit. It has an index at the beginning and includes a list of Heads of House. The rules cover topics such as discipline, meals, dormitories, dress and prayers.
This bix contains a volume of extracts concerning Grant's House and a list of Grantites, both compiled by Lawrence E. Tanner (G 1905 - 1909). There is also a Grantite House Register which is a list of names of boys who belonged to Grant's House.
The extracts in this book were taken from the Town Boy Ledger which was kept by the Senior Town Boy. It was compiled by Lawrence Tanner (G 1905 - 1909) and contains details of the history of Grant's House and notes on events between 1821 -1862. There are notes on sporting events, pupils, rules and the number of pupils within the school. Also included at the end is a list of the Heads of House from 1803-1889.
