LLOYD-MOSTYN, EDWARD MOSTYN, 2ND BARON MOSTYN, son of Edward Pryce Lloyd, 1st Baron Mostyn (qv); b. 13 Jan 1795; adm. 5 Jun 1807; left 1812; Christ Church, Oxford, matr. 28 Jan 1813; assumed additional surname and arms of Mostyn by royal licence 7 May 1831; MP (Whig) Flintshire 1831-7, 1841 – May 1842, Lichfield Jan 1846-7, Flintshire 1847 – 3 Apr 1854; High Sheriff, Flintshire 1831; Lord Lieut., Merioneth, from 25 Jan 1840; Vice-Adm., North Wales, from 1854; succ. father as 2nd Baron Mostyn 3 Apr 1854; took Whig/Liberal whip in House of Lords; won the Oaks and the St. Leger in 1825 with Queen of Trumps; m. 20 Jun 1827 Lady Harriet Margaret Scott, eldest dau. of Thomas Scott, 2nd Earl of Clonmell (I); d. 16 Mar 1884.
