Three-quarter length portrait of Busby standing, wearing academic robes and a scull cap; his body and head are inclined to the left of the painting; to the bottom-left is a table covered with a cloth, upon which is an open book; Busby has almost turned a page with his right hand.
The portrait (of which very few engravings exist) shows him standing with his head thrust forward belligerently and holding in one hand the strap with which he used to belabour junior boys who interrupted him in his work. It was a time-honoured joke to send unsuspecting new boys to provoke his wrath, and in his other hand is a piece of paper on which can just be discerned the words: Please give the bearer two measures of strap-oil. A copy after the fan portrait hung in the National Portrait Gallery, with an additional strip on the left to centre the portrait. Irene Begbie-Ellissen was the mother of Francis Lyon Gordon Ellissen (AHH 1932-1935).

Three-quarters length portrait of Williams, who stands turned to the right wearing black robes with a white ruff, black hat and moustache; his right hand rests horizontally across his stomach while his left hand drops to its natural position. On the right of the picture is Williams' coat of arms, inscribed with the identity of the sitter and the date of 1621. Possibly a variant of a portrait of 1627 by Jackson at St John's College, Cambridge.
